Regulations Amending the Gasoline Regulations (SOR/2008-126)The purpose of the Regulations Amending the Gasoline Regulations (hereinafter referred to as the Amendments), made under section 140 of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999, is to extend until January 1, 2010 the exemption with respect to leaded gasoline imported, produced or sold for use in competition vehicles.
The Amendments also remove the Regulatory provisions which allow the production, import and sale of leaded gasoline for use in farm machinery, boats, and large trucks. In addition, the Amendments update the Regulatory references to test methods for determining lead and phosphorus content in gasoline.
