In 1990 greenhouse gas emissions measured 251 megatonnes; in 1995 they measured 287 megatonnes; in 2000 they measured 307 megatonnes; and in 2003 they measured 340 megatonnes. Projected industrial greenhouse gas emissions would measure 352 megatonnes in 2010; 365 megatonnes in 2015; and 372 megatonnes in 2020. Projected emissions after reductions from the Industrial Regulations would measure 303 megatonnes in 2010; 293 megatonnes in 2015; and 284 megatonnes in 2020.

In 2006 emissions of n itrogen oxides (NO x) were estimated to be at 1000 kilotonnes, in 2015 they are projected to decrease by 40% to 600 kilotonnes; in 2006 emissions of sulphur oxides (SO x) were estimated to be at 1,850 kilotonnes, in 2015 they are projected to decrease by 55% to 840 kilotonnes; in 2006 emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) were estimated to be at 660 kilotonnes, in 2015 they are projected to decrease by 45% to 360 kilotonnes; in 2006 emissions of particulate matter (PM) were estimated to be at 200 kilotonnes, in 2015 they are projected to decrease by 20% to 160 kilotonnes.
