[English] Information About the Attachments (1)BlackPoint_Bathymetry_Dataset_1msq.txt This text file (.txt) contains the bathymetric data from a survey done in march 2013 of the Black Point Ocean Disposal Site in Saint John Harbour, New Brunswick. You can view this file using a number of different programs, including Notepad and Worpad. It is not recommended to work with this file in Microsoft Excel because it does not have the capacity to load the entire dataset, since the file contains over two million points of data. The file contains three columns/fields: An X position (Easting), a Y position (Northing) and a Depth Value (meters). If you would like to work with this data, it is recommended to use a GIS software package. How to download: (1)In EC Data Catalogue: Under 'Data Resources', Click 'Access'. The file will open in a web browser. Click File, Save As. Save it as a text file. (2)In GC Open Data Portal: Under 'Data Resources', Right click 'Download' and click 'Save target as'. Save it as a text file. Projected Coordinate System: -Datum: NAD 83 -Projection: UTM Zone 19 -Vertical Reference Datum : Canadian Hydrographic Service datum of St. John Harbour (2)BlackPointMBRaster.zip This zip file (.zip) contains one raster image and three supplemental files that provide the image with a spatial reference. The raster is an image of the results from the 2013 bathymetric survey completed at the Black Point Ocean Disposal Site in Saint John Harbour, New Brunswick. The raster image cannot be viewed using standard photo-viewing applications, but if opened with a GIS software package, the raster image can be shown on a map in the correct position. (3)BlackPointMultiBeamImage.tif This raster image is similar to the second attachment but it has some differences. It has the capability of being viewed with standard photo-viewing applications. The photo also contains information that allows the raster image to be mapped. The only disadvantage is when it gets brought into a GIS program, there will most likely be a black background surrounding the raster which may be undesirable. The raster image from the second attachment, the zip file, does not display a black background. Although attachment #3 does display a background when mapped, the Primary goal is for it to be easily viewed with standard photo-viewing applications and to have the ability to be mapped with GIS programs. (4)Black_Point_Disposal_Site_Model.jpg A three-dimensional image of the bathymetric data from the March 2013 bathymetric survey of the Black Point Ocean Disposal Site in Saint John Harbour, New Brunswick. It was produced using ArcScene 10.1. Vertical exaggeration was used to provide a more three-dimensional look. Elle a été produite en utilisant ArcScene -10.1. L'exagération verticale a été utilisée pour donner un aspect plus tridimensionnel.
