Substances
Once the assessment of a substance has been completed and is found to meet the definition of a "toxic" substance under section 64 of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 (CEPA 1999) the substance could be either 1) proposed for the recommendation that the substance is added to Schedule 1, List of Toxic Substances, 2) added to the PSL for further assessment, or 3) recommended for "no further action" be taken in respect of the substance (if effective risk management measures are in place under other provincial and territorial programs or Federal Acts).
