Amendments

1. The heading ''Substances Other Than Substances assigned a Confidential Substance Identity Number" before section 1Footnote1 and sections 1 and 2 of the Domestic Substances ListFootnote2 are replaced by the following:

  1. This List contains substances referred to in subsections 25(1) and 30(1) of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act and is made up of the following Parts:
    1. Part I sets out substances that are chemicals or polymers, other than substances referred to in paragraph (b), identified by their Chemical Abstracts Service Registry Numbers;
    2. Part II sets out substances that are chemicals or polymers that, in order to protect confidential information in accordance with section 20 of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, are identified by their masked names, in accordance with the Masked Name Regulations, and by their Confidential Substance Identity Numbers assigned by the Department of the Environment;
    3. Part III sets out substances that are biotechnology products, other than substances referred to in paragraph (d), that are identified
      • in the case of enzymes, by their International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Numbers,
      • in the case of organisms, by their specific substance names, and
      • in the case of other substances, by their Chemical Abstracts Service Registry Numbers; and
    4. Part IV sets out substances that are biotechnology products that, in order to protect confidential information in accordance with section 20 of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, are identified by their masked names, in accordance with the Masked Name Regulations, and by their Confidential Substance Identity Numbers assigned by the Department of the Environment

2. The heading to Part I of the List is replaced by the following:

3. The notesFootnote3 to Part I of the List are replaced by the following:

Notes

  1. The letter "N'' after a substance identifier indicates that the prescribed information has been provided to the Minister in accordance with subsection 26(1) of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act and assessed by the Minister under section 28 of that Act.
  2. The letter "T" after a substance identifier indicates that the prescribed information has been provided to the Minister in accordance with subsection 26(2) of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act.

4. The heading to Part ll of the List is replaced by the following:
