Physical Scientist - Assimilation of Satellite Data and Meteorology

CURRENT S&T / RESEARCH - Development and operational implementation of satellite data assimilation techniques and meteorology to improve the computer models used for weather and environmental forecasting. Research on ice to support safe navigation in the Arctic and Atlantic oceans and inland waters, leading to improved meteorological forecasting

  • Development of a variational data assimilation system for sea ice
  • Estimation of forecasting error covariance
  • Data assimilation in coupled atmosphere-ice-ocean models
  • Satellite data assimilation for sea ice analysis
