Martin Pilote Ph.D.

Physical Scientist - Environmental biogeochemistry specialized on the study of aquatic and atmospheric contaminants

CURRENT S&T / RESEARCH -

Contribute to research on priority substances, such as nanoparticles, under the Chemical Management Plan (CMP), to research on the impacts of oil sands exploitation on the aquatic environment, and research on the transport and deposition of atmospheric Hg along the St. Lawrence River, under the Clean Air Regulatory Agenda (CARA).
  • Participate in the evaluation of the bioaccumulation of nanoAg and others nanoparticles, and assess the influence of environmental factors and impacts on the aquatic environment
  • Participate in the evaluation of the bioaccumulation and the dynamic of metals in the watershed of the Athabasca River, and assess the influence of environmental factors and the impacts of oil sands exploitation on the aquatic environment
  • Contribute to the evaluation of transport and deposition of total Hg and atmospheric Hg species along the St.Lawrence River
  • Contribute to the evaluation of greenhouse gases exchanges, CO2 et CH4, and to determine their modulation with specific changes of temperature and precipitation in subarctic and Arctic environments
