Research Scientist - Chemistry Lead for Air Quality Modelling

CURRENT S&T / RESEARCH - Dr. Stroud contributes to the Clean Air Regulatory Agenda (CARA) program by improving the performance of Environment Canada’s research-grade air quality model (AURAMS), used to assess the impact of gas and particle emission reductions on the AQHI.  Dr. Stroud contributes to the Health-related Meteorological program by improving the performance of Environment Canada’s operational air quality forecast model (GEM-MACH), used to provide guidance in AQHI forecasts for Canadians

  • Improving regional-scale organic aerosol predictions across Canada
  • Improving urban-scale predictions of organic aerosol for Canadian cities
  • Modelling the update of ammonia and organic gases to sulphate aerosol
  • Improving biogenic emissions of volatile organic compounds
  • Improving on-road mobile emissions of carbonaceous species
