Anne Marie Macdonald

Atmospheric Chemist - Project Leader

CURRENT S&T / RESEARCH - Contributing to Environment Canada's initiatives to protect the health of Canadians and the environment from the harmful effects of air pollutants

  • Leads the Whistler high elevation measurement program
  • Studies atmospheric chemistry, processing of trace gases and particles by clouds, and how these processes affect air quality and climate
  • Studies tropospheric background chemistry and long term changes in trace gases and aerosol
  • Investigates long range transport of pollutants and its impact on Canada’s air quality and climate

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES / INTERESTS

Participated in more than fifteen national and international field programs on both ground-based sites and aircraft platforms.

Project Lead for the Whistler Aerosol and Cloud Study 2010, a collaborative study of Environment Canada and university colleagues from Canada, US, and Europe.

Collaborating with Canadian and US universities and government agencies for through CFI, CFCAS, NSERC, and NSF sponsored proposals.
