CURRENT S&T / RESEARCH - Contributing to Environment Canada’s mandate to ensure that water is clean, safe and secure; Assessing risks to Canadians and their environment posed by pollutants or other harmful or dangerous substances

  • Collaborate with study leaders across Canada to compile National toxics data under the Chemicals Management Plan
  • Evaluate and report on the status and trends of priority contaminants in different media across Canada
  • Conduct surveillance studies on contaminants of concern in fish, aquatic food webs and waters in Canada
  • Develop data analysis and mathematical modeling tools to improve the assessment of biomonitoring data in aquatic food webs
  • Report on Canada’s water quality to meet commitments under the Chemicals Management Plan and the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement in internal reports and peer reviewed publications
