Assessments

Environment Canada collects and evaluates data in order to assess and manage the potential impacts of certain activities on the environment.  

For example, the Department assesses the environmental implications of proposed projects during their early planning stages, identifies and assesses priority substances to determine whether they pose a significant risk to human health or the environment, and works with a network of partners to detect, describe, assess and report on ecosystem changes.
