Dr. Donald Baird was senior author of an invited “Opinion paper” for a special issue of the journal Molecular Ecology focusing on Environmental DNA. The paper "Biomonitoring 2.0: a new paradigm in ecosystem assessment made possible by next-generation DNA sequencing" examines the transformational nature of the application of environmental genomics in ecosystem assessment.
