Factsheet Available on Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers in the Canadian Environment
The new factsheet, Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers in the Canadian Environment (Environmental Monitoring and Surveillance in Support of the Chemicals Management Plan), provides an overview of the concentrations, geographic distribution, and trends of the seven polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) congeners in air, water, sediment, aquatic biota, wildlife, landfills, and wastewater as collected and analyzed by Science and Technology Branch scientists. Concentrations are compared with the Federal Environmental Quality Guidelines where applicable. This factsheet is a collection of all the monitoring and surveillance results on PBDEs in support of risk management and performance measurement under Environment Canada’s Chemicals Management Plan.
