The 2006 emissions inventory was compiled in collaboration with the provincial, territorial, and regional environmental agencies using the latest emission estimation methodologies and statistics available as of March 2008. It represents the most comprehensive emissions inventory available for Canada.
The 2006 emission summaries may be different from those previously published by Environment Canada, other governmental agencies, and international organizations.
The emission totals and sub-totals may not add up exactly due to rounding.
A portion of the emissions from the Marine Transportation sector are attributable to domestic and international innocent passage (movements through provincial waters) by commercial vessels. These emissions have been proportionally allocated to the provinces nearest the release of the emissions in the different waterways.
