Protocols and Guidance Manuals

The selection of appropriate emission estimation and reporting protocols is important to help ensure that GHG data is reliable, complete, accurate and consistent. Although no specific protocols have been developed for the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reporting Program, guidance will be provided to help reporters take advantage of the IPCC guidelines developed for the preparation of national inventories.

Sector-specific Guidance Manuals

Seven sector-specific guidance manuals have been developed to help facilities in the identified sectors to estimate and compile inventories of their GHG emissions. The manuals can be read online in HTML format or downloaded as PDF files.
