The Ozone-depleting Substances Regulations, 1998 and its amendments

The Ozone-depleting Substances Regulations, 1998 (ODSR 1998) were made under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA) in December 1998. The ODSR 1998 was amended on five occasions to ensure that Canada's obligations under the Montreal Protocol continue to be met. Subsequent amendments to the ODSR 1998 controlled additional ozone-depleting substances, accelerated the schedule for elimination of certain substances, and streamlined reporting requirements.
