Regulations Amending the Federal Halocarbon Regulations, 2003 (SOR/2009-221)

In 1999, Environment Canada published the Federal Halocarbon Regulations with the purpose of reducing and preventing emissions of ozone-depleting substances (ODS) and emissions of their halocarbon alternatives, namely hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) and perfluorocarbons (PFCs). The Federal Halocarbon Regulations applied to halocarbons used in refrigeration, air conditioning, fire extinguishing and solvent cleaning systems, as well as any associated containers or devices that were part of a federal work or undertaking or that were located on federal land or aboriginal land.
