Wastewater Systems Effluent Regulations Reporting

The Effluent Regulatory Reporting Information System (ERRIS) allows regulatees to submit various reports required under the Wastewater Systems Effluent Regulations (WSER).  It will utilize Environment Canada's Single Window system where WSER regulatees establish user accounts, manage their organization information and connect to ERRIS.

Requirements for monitoring, record-keeping, reporting and toxicity testing are specified in the Regulations.  Note that the identification and monitoring reports listed below must be submitted by the following dates:

January 1, 2013

  • Effluent quality and quantity monitoring begins
  • Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) recording begins
  • Record keeping and reporting requirements are in force

May 15, 2013

  • Identification Report
  • First Quarterly Monitoring Report (if subject to quarterly reporting)

Note: quarterly reports are due within 45 days after the end of each quarter

February 14, 2014

  • First Annual Monitoring Report (if subject to annual reporting)

Note: annual reports are due by February 14 of each subsequent calendar year

February 15, 2014

  • First Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) Report

Note: annual CSO reports are due by February 15 of each subsequent calendar year
