Electronic Reporting of Environmental Effects Monitoring Data

All facilities regulated under the Pulp and Paper Effluent Regulations and Metal Mining Effluent Regulations are required to submit their Environmental Effects Monitoring (EEM) monitoring data electronically.

Electronic Biological Monitoring Data

To submit EEM biological monitoring data electronically please send an email to ESEE / EEM (EC/EC) for a copy of the electronic template. You will also receive a help file that contains instructions for completing the template.

Important Note:
The current data entry templates as well as the original data entry software were designed for biological monitoring studies and not for magnitude and extent or Investigation of Cause (IOC) studies. Note that as per regulatory requirements, the submissions of electronic data from the above mentioned studies are required when data from certain components of these studies can be accommodated by the current Excel template. For example, if an adult fish survey is conducted as part of an IOC study, then the electronic fish survey data must be submitted as the templates allows the submission of such data.

For Metal Mines, Electronic Effluent Characterization, Water Quality Monitoring and Sublethal Toxicity Testing Data

Effluent characterization, water quality monitoring and sublethal toxicity testing data for metal mines are submitted into the Regulatory Information Submission System (RISS)

For Pulp and Paper Mills, Electronic Sublethal Toxicity Testing Data

The Sublethal Toxicity Reporting System for mills subject to the PPER is being modernized. As part of the modernization process, the existing reporting system has been decommissioned. As is currently occurring, mills are still required to submit the laboratory report containing sublethal toxicity testing results to the Authorization Officer.

Contact EEM for questions or comments regarding the electronic reporting systems.
