Service Standards for the EcoAction Community Funding Program

Our commitment is to provide you with quality service. When you contact one of our regional offices, you will find knowledgeable and courteous staff who will be pleased to discuss the eligibility of your organization and project, answer your questions and provide general guidance. 

You can expect staff to meet the following service standards:

Funding Inquiries

Our goal is to return your phone call or email inquiry regarding eligibility of your organization or project idea within 2 working days.

Acknowledgement of Receipt of Application

Our goal is to provide an acknowledgement letter within 15 working days of the November 1 application deadline, confirming the receipt of your completed and signed application package. 

Proposal Eligibility Evaluation

If your project proposal is not eligible for funding, our goal is to communicate with you in writing within 30 working days of the November 1 application deadline to provide you with an explanation indicating why your proposal is ineligible. 

Provision of Contribution Agreement

After you have been notified as a successful recipient, a regional Project Officer will contact you to develop a contribution agreement. The development of a contribution agreement generally takes 40 working days.  Please note that meeting this 40 working day standard for the development of a contribution agreement is a shared responsibility and largely depends on you submitting all required documentation to Environment Canada officials in a diligent and timely fashion. 

Once the successful negotiation of a contribution agreement has taken place, our goal is to provide you with a contribution agreement for your signature within 15 working days from the date that you have provided all required documentation to program staff.

Project Payments

Our goal is to issue payment within 20 working days of receiving your request for payment and all required reporting and supporting documentation.  

In the event that your initial payment will be an advance payment, our goal is to issue the payment within 20 working days of receiving your signed contribution agreement.
