State of the Lakes Ecosystem Conference (SOLEC)
OTTAWA, Ont. -- August 29, 2011 -- Media representatives are advised that top researchers and decision-makers from government, industry, academics and environmental groups are set to meet at the ninth State of the Lakes Ecosystem Conference (SOLEC), October 26-27 in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Jointly hosted by Environment Canada and the United States Environmental Protection Agency, SOLEC is the leading binational science-based Great Lakes conference. SOLEC presents and discusses the current ecological state of the Great Lakes. This year’s theme is “Linking Land to the Lakes,” with conference presentations focusing on land-based issues that impact water quality and the health of the Great Lakes.
