Batch 8 Substances

Notices to industry and other stakeholders were published requesting information on 14 high-priority substances included in Batch 8 of the Chemicals Management Plan. The data collected through these notices will be reviewed and assessed to determine if these substances pose a risk to Canadians’ health or to the environment and if any further action may be needed to minimize possible risks.

The Government of Canada will have completed its call for information for the approximately 200 high-priority substances by 2010. Information about the substances included in Batch 8, including where they are found and how they are used in Canada, is available on the new “Chemicals at a Glance” page.
