Public Consultation on the Draft Federal Sustainable Development Strategy 2013-2016
The Sustainable Development Office at Environment Canada is looking for input from Canadians on the draft second cycle of the Federal Sustainable Development Strategy (FSDS), covering the period 2013 to 2016. Canadians are encouraged to submit comments before June 14, 2013, on the government’s advancement of sustainable development initiatives.
The government wants to benefit from the broadest possible range of expertise and guidance as it continues in its effort to make environmental decision making more transparent and accountable to Parliament. In addition to general comments on the Draft FSDS 2013-2016, the Sustainable Development Office welcomes your input on the following topics:
- What are the next steps or approaches the federal government can take to continue to improve transparency and accountability of environmental decision making?
- How can the government enhance its approach to measuring progress on environmental sustainability?
- Are there new environmental sustainability issues that fit within the themes of the FSDS and the mandate of the federal government?
Canadians are encouraged to comment on the issues that are presented in this consultation draft by submitting their remarks to sdo-bdd@ec.gc.ca or mailing them to the Sustainable Development Office at the following address by June 14, 2013:
