Climate Change

Climate change is real, and it is affecting the environment and health of Canadians. The causes of climate change and its impact on the environment and human health are becoming increasingly understood, and increasingly problematic. That is why the government is taking action at home and abroad to reduce greenhouse gases and air pollution. Environment Canada supports the government’s efforts to protect the environment by developing policies and programs, conducting scientific research, and by working with other government departments, the provinces, territories and international partners in the fight against climate change.
