Aerospace Company Pleads Guilty to the Unlawful use of the Solvent Trichloroethylene

SURREY, B.C.– Avcorp Industries Inc (AVCORP) was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine, and make a $14,000 contribution to the Environmental Damages Fund after pleading guilty to committing an offence under subsection 272 (1) (a) of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999(CEPA).
The incident leading to these fines occurred between April 21, 2007 , and December 31, 2007, when AVCORP used more solvent than what is allowed under their Environment Canada permit. AVCORP pleaded guilty to this charge on October 20, 2009 , in Surrey Provincial Court.
