Duck Poachers Receive $6,000 in Fines

CARAQUET, N.B. -- April 15, 2011 -- Dave Leblanc, age 30 of Legoulet, New Brunswick, and Michel Savoie, age 56 of Shippigan, New Brunswick, each pleaded guilty on April 14, 2011 in New Brunswick Provincial Court in Caraquet for charges under the Migratory Birds Convention Act, 1994.

Leblanc and Savoie were each fined $2,000 for hunting migratory birds during the closed season.

They were also each fined an additional $1,000 under the Migratory Birds Convention Act, 1994 for hunting from a power boat.
