Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) identification guides

The CITES Identification Guides have been developed for individuals responsible for enforcing CITES. They provide detailed information for the identification of species protected under CITES and, in some cases, similar non-protected species.

CITES identification sheets

Since the publication of the Guides, new species have been added to the list of protected species under CITES. In order to update this source of reference, Environment Canada is producing species identification sheets.
