The proposed facility is a fuel grade ethanol plant with a nominal production of 210 million litres per year. The plant is to be located in Hensall, Ontario. Ethanol is produced from the fermentation of starch from corn with yeast, followed by distillation and dehydration. The byproducts of the process include spent grains and carbon dioxide. THe spent grains are marketed for animal feed either in a wet form for local farmers or as a dried product for more distant customers. Carbon dioxide is recovered and compressed on site by an industrial gas supplier for shipment to customers.
