Awareness Sessions

The AAACT Program promotes awareness of issues related to persons with disabilities in the workforce. These issues include barriers to employment, the availability of technology to help overcome those barriers, and the ability of persons with disabilities to work efficiently and effectively in the standard office environment. We have knowledgeable staff available to speak about issues, or demonstrate technology to audiences of any size.

We can provide:

  • Seminars
  • Workshops
  • Panel discussions
  • Executive briefings
  • Technology demonstrations (we bring a selection of adaptive technology to your site and set up in an accessible location for employees to review)
  • Trade shows sponsored by both government and private sector organizations

Accessibility Collaboration Session

AAACT Program staff will facilitate a half day session amongst key departmental stakeholders aimed at raising their awareness accessibility-related issues and engaging them as leaders in implementing the solutions (Note: something along these lines). At a minimum these will include, senior representation from IM/IT, Application Development, Project Delivery, Communications, Procurement, Human Resources etc. The group members will obtain and then collectively review relevant policies, processes and governance. Where required, stakeholders will be asked to modify their governance to better reflect accessibility requirements. A strategy to communicate the importance of accessibility will be developed amongst participants to be executed by senior management. The flat cost for this service is $ 2,500.
