This report presents projections of greenhouse gas emissions in Canada to the year 2020. The future path of greenhouse gas emissions in Canada will depend on a number of factors including: government actions, technological change, the growth in the economy, and developments in energy markets. The analysis presented in this report incorporates the most up-to-date statistics on greenhouse gas emissions and energy available at the time that the technical modeling was completed in December 2010, and is based on scenarios of emissions projections using a detailed, proven Energy, Emissions and Economy Model for Canada. The report explains how current provincial and federal government actions are having a significant impact on emissions reductions and have already reduced projected 2020 greenhouse gas emission levels by 65 Mt.
