Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers in the Canadian Environment
In order to understand and address the risks posed by polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) in the environment, the Government of Canada has been monitoring PBDEs in the environment and in certain waste streams across Canada. This fact sheet summarizes the environmental monitoring program for PBDEs and provides information on the spatial and temporal distribution of PBDEs in air, water, sediments, fish, birds as well as wastewater and landfill releases in Canada.
