Lead Fishing Sinkers and Jigs in Canada: Review of their Use Patterns and Toxic Impacts on Wildlife
Ingestion of small lead fishing weights has resulted in the lead poisoning and death of waterbirds in Britain, the United States, and Canada. This report updates scientific information presented in Scheuhammer and Norris (1995) and discusses initiatives taken by Canada and other countries to manage the issue of lead sinker ingestion and poisoning in wild birds.
