Acts, Regulations and Agreements

A number of acts, regulations and agreements guide the work of Environment and Climate Change Canada. Federal acts, especially the Canadian Environmental Protection Act 1999 and the Fisheries Act, dictate our responsibilities, and regulations are used to place strict controls on the areas we govern. We enter into agreements with other parties to define mutual commitments and the roles and actions we will take to address environmental issues.

Find out how acts, regulations and key agreements are improving our environment.
