Come Celebrate Canadian Environment Week From June 5 To 11

What are you doing to celebrate Canadian Environment Week this year? Thinking green doesn’t have to be hard. It can even be fun! Organize a clothing swap with your friends. This is a great way to renew your wardrobe, while at the same time saving you money. Have a trash-free barbecue and invite guests to bring dinnerware or use a Frisbee as a plate! This special week is a great way to discover simple things you can do for our environment. Every effort to help the environment counts, whether those efforts are big or small.
The United Nations declared 2011 the International Year of Forests. During Canadian Environment Week you can join in ‘Preserving our Forests and Protecting our Future’.
Many of us don’t understand howessential forests are for our very survival. We can say thank you to forests for the oxygen we breathe and for the shelter countless animals call home. Canada’s forests are also a source of food, medicine, clean air and water for us all. Preserving them is something we owe to our children and ourselves.
Get involved. Find out how you can take part in Canadian Environment Week initiatives and activities! Visit Canadian Environment Week for ways to get involved.
